Welcome! We’re looking for artists and vendors just like you to join our creative community collective.

We are so excited about our amazing new location in the heart of Downtown Hermosa Beach. Our shop is located directly on Pier Avenue, the main street and pedestrian walkway to all the action on the famous Hermosa Pier and restaurants along Hermosa Avenue. Just look at all that beach and tourist foot traffic we get!!

Am I a good candidate to join?

Handmade in CA is meant to be a diverse community of unique and interesting local small businesses. As such, you must be the maker, designer and or artisan of your brand and or product.

We are looking for SoCal entrepreneurs offering products that aren’t available in the big box stores or on Amazon. Sorry, no MLM or Direct Sales type businesses will be considered.

Types of products we can’t accept

Handmade in CA reserves the right to turn down items we feel aren’t a fit with our vibe. These may include but are not limited to:

  • Counterfeit items or items protected by trademarks or copyrights
  • Electronic devices
  • Weapons (real or fake)
  • Sexually explicit items
  • Items that endorse or incite hate and/or violence of any kind
  • Used items

How does this all work?

Each shop owner (vendor) rents a portion of the store and makes it their own.

You will be assigned a unique vendor number and each item placed in our store will be tagged with a scannable bar code. As customers browse our shop, they will take items they wish to purchase to checkout where your sale will be recorded in our computer system. We will have an online vendor portal where you can login to view your daily sales.

Easy peasy! Vendors do not need to be present at the store to make sales. Just setup your space, tag your merchandise, and let us do the rest. You can enjoy the benefits of selling your products at a prime location without the all the stress and expense of having your own brick and mortar store. 

Am I guaranteed to be the only vendor selling my type of product?

We want every vendor to have the best opportunity to make incredible sales in our shop. While we can never guarantee that you’ll be only one selling your type of product (whether it be jewelry, or hats, or tumblers), we do our best to make sure we have a wide variety of products presented to our customers and make every effort to limit duplicate and similar items being sold at the same time.

How much does it cost?

We charge a monthly rent for the space and a small commission on each sale. These depend on which space you choose and start as low as $50/mo + commission.

At the beginning of each month, Handmade in CA will cut a check to you for your previous month’s total sales minus the next month’s rent and applicable fees.

How long is a vendor lease?

Our vendor lease commitments are 4 months long.

What are the store’s operating hours?

We are open 7 days week, 10am to 6pm. Hours will be extended during the holiday season and we may occasionally close for certain holidays throughout the year.

Is this a temporary space?

No! We are locked in for at least 3 years so you can look forward to calling Hermosa Beach home to your products for as many 4 month lease periods as we mutually agree too!

Do you have any move in specials?

Yes! We really want to start off with a bang for Fourth of July (see what we did there?), so everyone who signs a 4 month lease and moves in by July 1 will receive 50% off commissions for all of July đŸ™‚
